Hello reader, on this page I dumped some of my history if you happen to be interested. If not,
click on the back button and enjoy the download section or do what you should be doing. I don't
know exactly were to start, so I'll start by telling about my history with computers as this is
the page of a computer freak named HellCoder.![]() |

My very first computer (not taking the LCD game&watch games in account), only used to play games, looking back at it, very dodgy games but boy was it fun to play them. This is an 8-bit machine in colour capable running 2D games. My favorite game was Terrahawks, a shootemup game like space invaders. Somehow I always wanted to buy the programming-basic cartridge but I didn't have the money or the guts to actually buy it. I was 6 at that time. :) |

This is my first computer I started programming on. Although this was my dad's computer I spend most of the time on it. I was programming in basic the advanced version of "Hello world" and created a small asci-drawn fighting game. Friends of mine had the Commodore64, a machine I was dreaming off. Somehow I realized there was more behind the basic of the ZX Spectrum as I found tricks being done on the machine 100% not possible in basic. This was the machine language I discovered but didn't know how to look outside the world of basic. I'm still sad I sold this computer back than. |

Finally, just at the beginning of a summer holiday my dad told me he wanted to buy the Commodore64, and I needed to pay a little as well. I ran upstairs, collected all I had and we bought a second hand Commodore64. Boy was I happy. I spend 20 hours a day behind this machine. First playing all these cool games, loading from tape, and soon I started programming in Basic again, playing with sprites, sounds, joystick control and typing programs written in magazines. (I still hate data statements). But I compared my programs to the games available and I was clearly missing out on something. I realized I needed to find a way to enhance my programs and the answer was assembly language. I think I was 9 by than. My first assembly language was flipping the side-border colours so incredibly damn fast I finally saw the power of it. The milestone was set, assembly language it would be for me. I learned all about multiple sprites, raster lines, interrupts. This was very cool. |

This machine was bought when I was still using the Commodore64 heaps. At first it became a games console but soon I bought the Action Replay cartridge and I was programming again. I quickly picked up the assembly language using the new 68k processor and I enjoyed it heaps. This machine is also the first machine were I entered programming in the 3D world. This machine gave me all new possibilities. Drawing pictures, making sound modules, rendering in 3D. I loved the concept of the Amiga, although I didn't like to program OS friendly cause I was still used to hitting the hardware. I also first learned about incompatibilities between different computers. Some had more memory, some had other kickstarts, this was telling me I needed to program OS friendly but I refused. |

YES... Another upgrade of my computer, new faster processor, more memory, and A HARDDRIVE!!!!. I never worked with an harddrive before, I could actually store my source code on the harddrive. I started with 80 Mb drivesize, and it was huge in my eyes back than. I started working on an adventure, totally hitting the hardware still, taking over the complete OS and it still worked on all amigas I saw. At this point I had 3 commodore64's, my A500, and an A1200 with HD. :) Can you believe that with this setup I started using an assembler ??, before I was hacking into memory using the cartridges. At some point I bought an M-Tec expansion card containing a 030 processor running on 25 Mhz. To me this was a big improvement and I could try my first chunky to planar routine. Of course the hunger to more speed became bad and I bought myself a Blizzard 1260 leaving my M-Tec unused. When my A1200 was using the blizzard 1260 I started to miss the 030 a little, since certain games didn't work anymore, booting was slower, and most important, I wanted to test my software running on slower machines. So I bought a second A1200. This was about the area were the PPC was being announced and I got also really excited about the PPC concept. |

A total bargain when I bought this machine. I just couldn't resist so I bought it. It came fitted with an 030 and nothing more although I could see on the harddrive that there were leftovers of a 040/060 based machine. I found libraries and patches. By now the PPC was beginning to set forms and I really wanted the PPC and finally after selling my mopet I bought the PPC for my A1200. However I just wanted the BVision as well but it didn't arrive and I needed to wait and wait until I got fet up with it and I ordered my 2nd PPC for my A4000 and the CVision with it as well. Soon after all this arrived the BVision arrived and now I had two PPC machines with the latest graphic-cards. It costed me lots of money though, well worth spend. |

When I finished my education I started working in a programming team were I learned about programming standards, styles, and OS friendly programming. At first I didn't like it, but now I can hardly do without. Currently I'm working in the automotive industry were I'm programming car test devices for Snap-On in an embedded environment. Although I'm currently developing on a windows machine, this does not mean I cancelled Amiga developing. This is because of the BraatWorst engine, that enables me to keep developing for Amiga aswell. :) |
